Indy airport sends snow melter to help with blizzard clean up

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indianapolis International Airport will be sending help to the east coast for blizzard clean up.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has asked for IND to send their massive snow melter to help melt snow that was dumped on the east cost. The snow melter will take off from the airport at 10 a.m. on Monday.

IND says the snow melter can melt up to 60 tons of snow per hour. The first stop for the snow melter will be Washington, D.C.
