Police ticket man for reading James Patterson novel while driving

EAGAN, Minn (WCMH) – Police in Minnesota ticketed a man for distracted driving, after he admitted he was reading a James Patterson novel while behind the wheel.

It happened Tuesday on Highway 149 in a suburb near Minneapolis-St. Paul.

Police told KARE11 that an officer was patrolling in an unmarked SUV when he noticed the driver trying to balance a tablet on the steering wheel.

The police department posted a note on twitter saying “Arrive alive, don’t novel and drive.”

Police couldn’t say what the title of the book was, but did remember that the author was James Patterson.
