Puppy left in frigid temperatures finds forever home

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – Miri, the puppy who was dropped off at the humane society in Indianapolis in freezing temperatures, has found a home.

On Jan. 18, Humane Society for Hamilton County officials said camera captured someone dumping a dog in frigid conditions.

Humane Society for Hamilton County officials said the video shows someone dumping a dog, in sub-zero temperatures.

“She was dropped over the fence with a jump rope tied to her collar, and that jump rope got tangled up in some equipment outside,” Humane Society for Hamilton County Director of Operation Katie Trennepohl said.

Luckily the medical manager for the society came in early at 7:40 a.m. to find the puppy. She said the dog had hypothermia and a large gash in her head.

Staff members believe the dog is about three months old. They named her Miri.

The Humane Society for Hamilton County said Miri has been adopted and will be picked up on Saturday.
