Vermillion County judge sets trial in reckless homicide case
NEWPORT, Ind. (AP) – A 19-year-old Vermillion County man accused of causing a one-vehicle crash that killed his three passengers is scheduled to stand trial in May.
Ethan N. Lee of Cayuga was indicted Jan. 15 by a grand jury on three counts of reckless homicide. He’s also charged with criminal mischief, reckless driving and false informing.
Authorities allege that Lee was driving recklessly on Jan. 2 when his pickup truck crashed into an office building in Cayuga.
The (Muncie) Star Press reports that 18-year-old Annie Clark and 16-year-old Caroline Clark, sisters from Muncie, and 18-year-old Braeden Hollowell of Cayuga were killed in the crash.
A judge entered not guilty pleas on Lee’s behalf Monday in Vermillion Circuit Court.
Lee is free on a $15,000 bond. His trial is set for May 17.
