INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A 6-year-old boy donated his only dollar to help the people of Flint, Mich.
Maison White heard about flint’s water crisis earlier this week and decided he wanted to help. So he used his only dollar to buy six bottles of water to donate.
Now he’s asking the rest of Indianapolis to match that donation.
He and his grandmother are collecting water at the intersection of Martin Luther King Street and 34th Street. His grandmother said Maison’s initiative is sparking a response from others.
“We had some little kids come by yesterday when he was in school,” Denise Stone, Maison’s grandmother said. “They wanted to hold the signs and they wanted to help and I was so happy for that.”
Maison and his grandmother are also looking for volunteers to help deliver the water to Flint. They will be driving up together.
“I love people,” Maison White said. “And I love to help people.”
