Clay County death ruled a homicide

CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — A woman was found dead inside a home in Clay County on Sunday, according to Indiana State Police.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a home in the 200 block of West Columbus Street in Staunton around 3 p.m.

Deputies found the body of 52-year-old Virginia Marie Myrtle inside her home. She was known as “Dee” to family and friends.

A Monday autopsy indicated foul play and the death was ruled a homicide, according to Indiana State Police.

Police continue to investigate the death.
