Be my Valentine? Students make cards for Riley patients

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Some high school students are making sure that patients at Riley Hospital for Children feel special this Valentine’s Day.

Students at Nexus Academy volunteered their time and stayed after school to make handmade cards for the children.

The students cut, glued, colored and decorated their cards to make each one unique and special.

“The kids are absolutely enjoying it,” Josh Orndorff of Nexus Academy said. “It’s kind of like that kids arts and crafts feeling. Instead of learning algebra, we’re just cutting out hearts and telling the kids that we are thinking about them.”

The students will be making around 500 valentines. They will be delivered to Riley on Valentine’s Day.
