Indy companies fighting high drug prices

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Two major Indianapolis companies are joining forces to fight high drug prices. Also, the RV industry is seeing some big success.

Jane King was on Daybreak Tuesday morning with this story and other local and national business headlines.

Anthem and Eli Lilly are working together to find a solution to the high cost of prescription drugs.

An Anthem spokesperson says while the rest of the health care system is moving toward paying for value, payments for drugs largely continue to be stuck in a 20th century construct that focuses on price, regardless of the health outcomes of each patient.

The companies say their first goal is to nudge a debate on high cost prescription drugs.

In other business news, RV sales last year were the best since 2006. The world’s largest RV industry is collected in northern Indiana, Elkhart County.

Industry leaders say consumers are entering their prime RV spending years and that helped sales.
