Man uses stun gun to fight off robber at Lafayette motel

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Lafayette police say a man used an electronic stun device to fight off an attempted robbery at the Devon Plaza motel Monday evening.

Around 11:15 p.m., police were called to the 2300 block of N. 26th Street. A man staying at the Devon Plaza told officers another man demanded money and tried to force his way into his room.

After the victim used a stun gun, the other man is believed to have driven off in a white Jeep Cherokee. The victim described the man as approximately 6-feet-5-inches tall and 180 pounds.
