Police: Armed suspects rob Lawrence credit union

LAWRENCE, Ind. (WISH) – Police in Lawrence say two people pointing guns robbed a bank in Lawrence Tuesday morning.

According to a spokesman with the Lawrence Police Department, it happened at the KEMBA Credit Union at 5625 North Sunnyside Road around 9:30 a.m. The FBI Safe Streets Task Force is now aiding in the investigation.

Police say the armed suspects were covered from head to toe. They went into the bank pointing their weapons, officials said.

No one was injured. Police say the suspects got away in a stolen Pontiac Montana that was later found in a neighborhood east of the credit union. Police say the vehicle was stolen when a victim left it running unattended.

The pair escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.
