Love and passion are in the air. If you expect to rise for the occasion, what you eat before a romantic dalliance has a profound effect on your performance in the boudoir. Sexologists, cardiologists, and psychologists agree: what you consume has a huge impact on your approaching sexual liaison. Of course, being in love with the right person is always the best aphrodisiac. Chef Wendell shares his tips on hot NOT to harsh your sexual mellow! Here are his tips and recipes:Good for libido:Pumpkin and sunflower seeds and OYSTERS:

  • Boost zinc levels- crucial for improving sperm health and testosterone levels.

Celery:

  • Eating celery can increase the pheromone androsterone,
  • Dilates blood vessels, which increases sex drive and enhances climax.

Bananas:

  • Vitamin B, bromelain, serotonin in bananas that boosts your sexual performance.
  • Increases your energy production and reduces stress
  • There’s a bunch of other good stuff in Bananas-the hormone, serotonin), and bromelain (an enzyme that improves blood flow and increases libido).

Take home:

  • Don’t “Harsh your sexual mellow” with too much booze and eating heavy, greasy, hard-to-digest food.
  • When you’re thinking about amore, think light, whole plant foods, plenty of hydrating water and hot peppers that stimulate circulation / blood flow.

Spicy Stuffed Sweet Potato Topped with Fried Egg

2 servings

2 tbsp. EVOO

2 sweet potatoes, finely diced (about 2 cups)-Scrub your spud!

Several drops liquid smoke

Pinch or more of cayenne or more if you like it hot and spicy-Great for blood flow!

1 tsp. dried thyme

1 green onion, chopped

Himalayan salt & pepper to taste

1 tsp. cumin

1/2 tsp. chili powder

1/2 tsp. ground coriander

2 cups cooked / steamed spinach, drained

¼ cups walnut pieces-Omega 3 Essential Fatty Acids

2 over easy fried eggs-Protein

1/2 avocado, cut into wedges

Fresh lime juice

• Pre-heat oven to 375˚

• Thoroughly wash and dry sweet potatoes. Pierce each potato multiple times with a fork. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 60-75 minutes, or until cooked through and soft.

• Remove and let cool down so you can handle the spud.

• Meanwhile, drain steamed spinach. If frozen let thaw and squeeze out excess water.

• Cut a slit in the top. Using a tablespoon, gently remove the warm orange meat and place into a mixing bowl. Reserve the shells for serving.

• Add green onions, S & P, cumin, chili, coriander, thyme and liquid smoke. Mix well.

• Place the sweet potato shells on a platter and refill them evenly with the sweet potato mix you just made.

• Top with walnuts, spinach and 1 fried egg.

• Garnish with wedges of avocado and then the lime juice

Oil and vinegar dressing (Not Ranch!)
