Subway raising price of $5 footlong deal

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Brush up your resume, Home Depot is going on a hiring spree. Also, Subway is ditching their $5 footlong.

Jane King was on Daybreak Thursday morning with these story and other local and national business headlines.

Home Depot is hiring in Indianapolis. They say they need 450 more workers for its 10 local stores to help out during the busy spring season. In all Home Depot is hiring 80,000 workers nationwide for sales, cashier and operations positions.

In other business news, Subway’s popular $5 footlong deal is being replaced. The restaurant chain is blaming higher food prices. They say a new offer will include the footlong sub, but it will be for $6. They will also offer a “Simple $6 ” deal that will include a choice of six different sandwiches, a  21 ounce drink and chips.
