Family fun for Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is the holiday of love, and children adore knowing they are the apple of their parent’s eye, the center of their whole world. Here are some of our favorite things to do to celebrate Valentine’s Day in Indy, with kids, courtesy of “Indy With Kids’” Katie Mann!Night Out

Grab some tickets for a very special evening — Daddy-Daughter, Mother-Son and Family dances are taking place all over central Indiana but they are selling out quickly! This weekend you can dance the night away at the YMCA, Brownsburg parks, Fishers, Carmel and Greenwood.

It’s a cheap date, it’s pretty fun, a waiter takes your order and they roll out the red carpet for you. I’m talking about Valentine’s Day at White Castle. Believe it or not, you’ll need reservations for this special night out.Nature and Fun

Ritchey Woods Nature Preserve in Fishers is the place to be Feb 5th, 1 to 5 p.m. or any time between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Feb. 6. Families can explore and hike the trails, searching for photographs of heart shapes found in nature during the Heart Hikes.

Make a Lots of Love Suncatcher at the Lakeshore Learning Store. This free craft is a part of their free Saturday craft time, 11am – 3pm.See A Show

Peewinkle’s Puppet Studio presents their annual Valentine’s Day Cabaret February 12th – 15th. This adorable Valentine’s themed show is perfect for the preschool crowd. Audience members get a cookie and a drink to enjoy during the show. Tickets are $13.
