Local chocolate company unveils new chocolate bar for a good cause

You’ll soon be seeing a new chocolate bar in grocery stories! Endangered Species Chocolate has released the name of their new chocolate bar: the “Eagle bar.” Spotlighting the American Bald Eagle on the wrapper, this rich dark chocolate surrounds handcrafted, organic caramel with Pink Himalayan Sea Salt.

Here are a few facts about the chocolate bar and Endangered Species Chocolate:

– This chocolate bar is Fairtrade International certified, Non-GMO Project Verified and gluten-free.

– ESC donates 10 percent of net profits annually to partnering conservation organizations. The current 10% GiveBack partners are Rainforest Trust and Wildlife Conservation Network.

– As a Steward sponsor of The Peregrine Fund, ESC collaborated with the 501(c)(3) nonprofit to utilize the inside of the Eagle bar wrapper to tell the story of how Endangered Species Act protections have helped American Bald Eagle populations make a remarkable recovery.

– The Eagle bar is currently available on Amazon.com in bulk (packs of 12), and will be available in Kroger and other natural food stores across the U.S. in early February 2016.
