Hair Craft Project

Her designs are incredible and so is the work she’s showing off from artists who’ve displayed their talent right on top of her head, literally! Artist Sonya Clark is speaking at The Alexander at CityWay tonight at 7 p.m. to discuss Madame C.J. Walker’s legacy and the inspiration for Clark’s Hair Craft Project.

Sonya Clark, who fashioned Madame C.J. Walker’s headshot out of hair combs, will speak at CityWay, February 11, about Walker’s legacy and the inspiration for Clark’s Hair Craft Project.

For the Project, Clark became a “walking gallery” of black hair fashion when she let hairdressers create temporary works of art using her hair. The designs are incredible!
