Pence calls for flags at state facilities to half-staff for Scalia

INDAIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Governor Mike Pence has directed flags at state facilities to be flown at half-staff in remembrance of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.

Flags are to be flown at half-staff until sunset on the day Scalia is laid to rest.

Businesses and Indiana residents are also asked to lower their flags as well.

The 79-year-old passed away Saturday due to natural causes.

Having served nearly 30 years on the Supreme Court, Scalia was appointed to the nation’s highest court in 1986 by then President Reagan.

Scalia would have turned 80-years-old in March.
