Impaired driver had BAC nearly 3 times legal limit

COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) – Police say they arrested a man who was driving while intoxicated and he was nearly three times over the legal limit.

Joseph Lewis, 37, from Hope was pulled over in the 16000 block of East Lake Shore Drive South for failing to signal a lane change. Police say he was driving while intoxicated and his blood alcohol content was nearly three times over the legal limit.

Lewis was arrested around 3:20 Tuesday morning on a preliminary misdemeanor charge of operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .15 percent or more, Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus police spokesman told 24-Hour News 8’s partners at The Republic.
