Indiana Blood Center, Girl Scouts team up for blood donations

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – During the winter, most people tend to stay home more than in other seasons. This is probably why the blood donations decline over the cold weathered months as well.

With warmer weather on Wednesday blood centers are hoping people take this as a push to motivate them to head to the blood bank and give life.

Deana Potterf with the Girl Scout Association and Lucy Smith the Indiana Blood Center stopped by the studio to talk about how they are sweetening the deal.

On Thursday, an event called “Thin Mints Thursday” will help blood banks restock their supplies and give you a chance to take home some Girl Scout cookies.

Everyone who stops by an Indiana Blood Bank on Thursday, except the Lafayette location, will get a free package of Thin Mints, while supplies last.

You can stop by from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more information click here.
