IMPD arrests California diamond thieves

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrested two men wanted for robbing a jewelry store in California.

On Feb. 12, police stopped a car for vehicle code violations on I-70 around 4 p.m.

The occupants were identified as 25-year-old Jebediah Deangelis and 24-year-old Kevin Malone.

Four days earlier, the two suspects walked into Goldworks jewelry store in California. They stole jewelry and fled the store after an employee pushed the panic alarm.

While IMPD investigated the car, they located a weapon and evidence directly connecting the two men with the jewelry store robbery in California.

According to the release, the suspects were placed under arrest and are in the process of being extradited to San Mateo County in California for preliminary charges of felony armed robbery.
