Firestone shows off special race tire for 100th run of Indy 500

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Firestone is celebrating the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 with a special tire for their drivers.

The tire will display the Indy 500 logo on the sidewall of the tire. They company said they unveiled the tire to honor the legendary drivers who contributed to the brand’s 66 combined victors at the Indianapolis 500.

The sidewalls will feature the iconic Firestone-shod drivers like Ray Harroun, Louis Meyer and Mario Andretti and the Indy 500 logo for the 100th run.

Fans can see the race tires in action during the Monday May 16 practice at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and during the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 on May 29.
