Michigan State Police issue AMBER Alert for child missing from Detroit

DETROIT, Mich. (WOOD)- According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Michigan State Police have issued an AMBER Alert for Savannah Walker.

The organization’s website says four-year-old Savannah Walker was last seen on Feb. 16, 2016. She has blonde hair and blue eyes.

State Police believe she is with 33-year old Marcus Hightower. Hightower is described as a black male, 5-foot-9, 252 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

The two are believed to be in a 2004 black Ford Explorer with a Michigan license plate of DFJ5377.

Savannah’s mother, 39-year-old Heidi Walker, is also missing. She was last seen on Feb. 16, 2016. She is described as a white female, 5-foot-10, 145 pounds. She has brown hair and hazel eyes. Police believe she may have been a victim of foul play. Family members reported them missing on Friday night.

Hightower, who is said to be Heidi Walker’s boyfriend, has a lengthy criminal record, including convictions of Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm Less Than Murder and 2nd Degree Child Abuse.
