Watch: Amazing Rube Goldberg Machine wins Purdue contest

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WISH) — Engineering students battled in a unique competition Saturday.

The Purdue Engineering Student Council hosted its annual Rube Goldberg Machine Contest.

A Rube Goldberg Machine completes a simple task in a complex way.

Four high school teams and seven college teams competed.

Students from Purdue’s Polytechnic Institute took home first place. The seven-person team spent an estimated 45 hours creating the contraption.
