Pickup driver killed in crash with semi on US 6

CORUNNA, Ind. (WANE) – A pickup driver was killed early Monday after slamming into an oncoming semi truck near the Noble/DeKalb county line.

According to 24-Hour News 8 sister station, WANE, police and medics were called around 9 a.m. Monday on a report of a crash along U.S. 6 between the Noble/DeKalb line and the town of Corunna. Indiana State Police Sgt. Ron Galaviz said a westbound pickup drifted left of center and clipped the cab of an oncoming eastbound semi tractor-trailor.

The impact killed the pickup driver. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The semi driver was hospitalized. His condition was not known.

Neither driver was identified.

Police closed U.S. 6 between Corunna and Kendallville as investigators looked into the crash and cleaned the wreckage. Traffic was routed traffic north onto County Line Road and S.R. 327. Galaviz said the highway was expected to be closed until nearly
