Three hospitalized after chase, crash on west side
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Three people were hospitalized after a police pursuit and crash on the city’s west side.
Police responded to the intersection of Washington Street and Lynhurst Drive just before 4 p.m. Monday.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said three people stole a 13-year-old victim’s shoes and backpack and took off. The teen was not injured in the robbery.
A witness provided a vehicle description to police and a nearby officer soon located the vehicle. The vehicle began to speed and make dangerous passes on the road, then left the road and struck a pole in the 4400 block of Rockville Road, injuring the three people in the vehicle.
The Wayne Township Fire Department says that three patients, two with serious injuries and one with minor injuries, were taken to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital.
