White county man sentenced to prison for death of baby

WHITE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – Conor Jackson has been sentenced to prison time following the death of his two-month-old baby. Twenty-three-year-old Jackson was sentenced to 30 years with 10 years suspended. The remaining 20 years will be served at the Indiana Department of Corrections.

According to 24-Hour News 8 sister station, WLFI, in December, 23-year-old Conor Jackson pleaded guilty to neglect of a dependent resulting in death.

The incident happened at a home in Chalmers last June. Detectives with Indiana State Police were notified by child protective services about a baby at Franciscan St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette.

The child reportedly had life threatening injuries and was transported to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis where is died a few days later. The autopsy showed the child died from blunt force trauma to the head.

Sergeant Kim Riley said at the time that they believe Jackson let his emotions get out of control.
