Some schools dismiss early as snowfall picks up

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A number of central Indiana school districts opted to close early Wednesday morning as rain began turning to snow.

A strong storm system arrived in central Indiana overnight Tuesday. It will last through a good part of the day Thursday and could bring up to 10 inches of snow in some spots.

Many counties have issued blizzard warnings and winter storm warnings because of the weather.

Indiana State Police have urged motorists to please not call police for road conditions. Statewide travel information is available at trafficwise.in.gov or by calling 1-800-261-ROAD (7623).

From 6-10 a.m. Wednesday, ISP said they responded to 46 property damage crashes, 16 crashes with injury, 33 slide offs and 32 calls to help a motorist.Below are some helpful links:
