Parents claim sippy cups become moldy despite washing

(WFLA) – Parents around the world are posting photos of children’s sippy cups on social media saying they are growing mold despite washing them. Some parents even claim it made their child sick.

Although parents claim they’re having problems with several brands, the ones focusing on Tommee Tippee cups are going viral.

Parents claim they’re washing the sippy cups, including the anti-leak mechanism, but that mold is growing anyway.

We always welcome your feedback, comments and ideas, about how our mums and dads use our products and the experience of your littles ones is what Tommee Tippee is all about!

All the positive information you share with us tells us we’re doing the right thing, and just as importantly, like all companies, we learn even more when things are brought to our attention.

We know from some visitor posts that a few people have not had a good experience with our latest Sippee Cup valve, for this we apologise and want you to know that we are actively following up on any concerns raised.

Recently our Head Office Team and Careline advisors have spoken with parents directly about their feedback. We understand that the wellbeing of your little ones is paramount and we can reassure you that we have extensively tested the valves using recommended liquids and our specific cleaning guidelines, and the results have supported our view that when used and cleaned in line with instructions, everything is in order.

In addition to the cup instructions we’ve also prepared a range of FAQ’s and videos to help you care for your cups and valves, these can be found here: http://www.tommeetippee.us/support/faqs/one-piece-valve-cup/

That said, we do understand that there may be other factors that we cannot replicate in our test laboratories which is why, if you’ve had a problem, our Careline team would love to speak with you directly on 1-877-248-6922 (toll-free).

We have also engaged a group of tester mums and together with their feedback your posts are invaluable to us in developing our product range.

We are now in contact with the parent referenced in the original post and are investigating those concerns.

Also, we’d encourage any dissatisfied customer to reach out to us so that we can replace their cup with an alternative of their choice.

Thank you for your support.
