Dick Wolfsie visits Black Firefighters Reunion

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Each and every week, Dick Wolfise shares a unique and exciting story that has a special connection to central Indiana.

This time Dick Wolfsie stopped by the Black Firefighters Reunion at the Black Firefighters Association.

He talked to several people including Corey Arnold, one of the first black female firefighters in Indianapolis, Teresa Lewis, and Battalion Chief, Daryl Hayden.

He learned about some of the most important achievements of black firefighters in Indianapolis.  He also learned about the history of black firefighters in Indianapolis as well as the first black fire chief in Indiana’s capital city, Joseph D. Kimbrew.
