NFL prospects show their skills at Lucas Oil

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Hundreds of top college football players showed off their stuff to NFL coaches and scouts in the Circle City as they try to become a member of one of the 32 NFL teams.

On Saturday, defensive linemen and linebackers filled Lucas Oil Stadium as they went through a number of football drills. On Sunday, the last day of the NFL Combine, defensive backs will take to the field.

Visit Indy has reached an agreement for the City of Indianapolis to host the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine and for the city to be an option host city for 2018, 2019, and 2020.

Local football fans are hoping the NFL Combine stays in Indianapolis so they can hopefully run into the prospects and the city can continue to reap the benefits.

Vaugn Mihok, 14, of Zionsville said, “It’s awesome! I’m glad they have it in Indy and not like New York or California. It’s good here and I love it.”

Tyler Gutweyn, 13, of Zionsville said, “It brings so much business here and it’s really going to help our economy here in Indy too.”

The NFL Scouting Combine is estimated to bring $8 million to the economy.
