Matt Hasselbeck tweets touching goodbye message to Colts, Indy

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Appearing to confirm reports of his imminent departure, Indianapolis Colts backup quarterback Matt Hasselbeck said he was grateful to the team and the city.

“Amazing experience w/ Colts,” Hasselbeck tweeted Monday afternoon. “My family & I are grateful to you Indianapolis. Many great friends, you will be missed!”

Hasselbeck started eight games for the injured Luck this past season, winning the first four, but after suffering his own injuries, he lost three of the last four games he started.

The Colts already have Josh Freeman under contract, so he would become second string if Hasselbeck, who said he’d like to play again, does not return.
