Authorities identify 2 killed in crash in eastern Indiana

SELMA, Ind. (AP) – Authorities have identified two people killed in a crash in Selma in eastern Indiana.

Delaware County Coroner Scott Hahn said Monday that dental records were used to identify 45-year-old Joy Marie Greer and 51-year-old Russell E. Greer Jr.

Hahn said the two died of blunt-force trauma injuries suffered when their Chrysler PT Cruiser hit a tree in Selma. The vehicle was then engulfed in flames.

The crash was reported Saturday night. Hahn says the Greers lived just outside Selma.

The (Muncie) Star Press reports the cause of the accident remains under investigation. Joe Krupa, public information officer for the Delaware County Sheriff’s Department, says the vehicle hit a parked car before leaving the road and hitting the tree.
