Driver of Johnson County high speed chase found guilty

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – The driver of a high speed chase from last year was convicted in Johnson County on Monday.

Rick Miller II, from Columbus, faces two and a half years in prison for reckless driving, resisting law enforcement and driving while suspended.

Police say Miller led a sheriff’s deputy on a high speed chase back in October. His speeds during the chase ranged from 100 to 130 miles per hour.

Prosecutors say Miller was with four others when he was seen driving a car leaving the scene of an alcohol theft at the Greenwood Kroger.

The chase ended when Miller crashed into a fence line. He and the four other passengers ran from the scene. They were all caught shortly after.

Miller’s sentencing is scheduled in three weeks.
