The madness has begun! Make YOUR pick in the 2016 Indianapolis Brackets for Good tournament!
The tournament is happening now, with the final round concluding on April 1. Last year, the BFG tournaments raised $571,383 in Indianapolis and $252,925 in Louisville for a total of $824,308. Brackets For Good, which launched in Indianapolis in 2011 to raise awareness and money for local nonprofits, has raised more than $1.3 million for local charities since its 2012 kick-off contest. This year, BFG has expanded into three additional markets: St. Louis, Missouri; Ann Arbor, Michigan; and Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota; the fundraising tournament will also return to Louisville and Indianapolis.
Brackets For Good recently selected 64 nonprofits in each city to participate in the lineup. During the upcoming tournament, participants will compete to out-fundraise their opponents while earning increased exposure; one organization will also win the title sponsor’s grand prize donation of $10,000. The brackets will be revealed at each free tip off event in participating cities before the tournament begins at 8 p.m. on Feb. 26, 2016. At the end of every round, the points for the advancing nonprofit agencies are reset to zero, but every dollar donated throughout the tournament is given to the participating nonprofits, regardless of advancement.
