Maconaquah student detained after posting bomb threat

MIAMI COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – A juvenile was detained Tuesday by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office in connection with a bomb threat directed at an Indiana school corporation.

According to a release from the Miami County Sheriff’s Office, information of a bomb threat at Maconaquah School Corporation was received by law enforcement around 9:30 p.m. on March 1.

The threat read, “MSC is going to be bombed between Wednesday at 10 a.m. and Friday at 10 a.m.”

The Miami County Sheriff’s Office investigated the matter using a computer database it has on file. Officers discovered the threat was made from a specific residence in Miami County.

When deputies arrived at the house, police said the juvenile admitted to posting the threat on a social media site from the residence around 7 p.m. March 1.

The juvenile was detained by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office and later transported to a juvenile detention facility.
