‘Greatest Spectacle in Racing’ includes 9 women drivers
SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH) – The countdown to the 100th running of the Indy 500 continues. The big race is only 87 days away.
Laura Steele took a look at the women who’ve run the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing.”
A total of nine women have competed in the Indianapolis 500 and it all began in 1977 with Janet Guthrie. Following in her footsteps was Lyn St. James, Sarah Fisher, Danica Patrick and Pippa Mann to name a few.
