No injuries as train strikes semi trailer

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A train struck the back of a semi as it attempted to cross the tracks, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

The semi truck was traveling southbound on Rural Street and tried to make a turn onto Massachusetts Avenue and got stuck in mud, leaving the back end of the trailer still across the railroad tracks.

The crash occurred at 6 p.m. The train had two locomotives and 38 railcars. CSX said normal operations were back around 9:15 p.m.

The driver exited the semi before the train hit the back of the truck on Thursday night.

IMPD said that no one was injured in the crash.
