Coach Manning? Fans have high hopes for Peyton’s future

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Colts fans are looking back on the career of one of their favorite players, and they’re looking ahead with high hopes for Peyton Manning’s future.

Blake Campbell, a Colts fan who started rooting for the Broncos when Manning left, said he’d like to see Peyton continue his football career.

“I’d like to see him go into coaching,” Campbell said. “With the Colts; that would be nice.”

Campbell said he’ll always remember how respectful and humble Manning was when appearing in the media.

Norma Quick, who has rooted for the Colts for decades, said her favorite Peyton memory is his Colts Super Bowl victory.

“I’m happy for him, but I’m sad,” she said. “Peyton is awesome and I’ve always respected him.”

Quick shuffled into the Colts Pro Shop looking for Manning gear, but the store only sells one Manning item–a small toy depicting the quarterback.

Employees said every week at least one person comes in looking for more. This week is no exception.

“I’m hoping for a coaching job or something like that,” Quick said of her hopes for Manning’s future.

“I pretty much call him the offensive coordinator,” Manning fan Rudy Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez, Quick and Campbell all said they wish Manning could have retired as a Colt.

And they all said they’d like to see him return to Indianapolis as a coach.
