Kokomo next Indiana city to look at LGBT protections

KOKOMO, Ind. (WISH) – Kokomo is moving forward with an LGBT anti-discrimination bill.

The Kokomo City Council voted Monday night to create the ordinance.

According to the Kokomo Tribune, it was the ordinance’s first reading.

The second reading is set for March 14.

The ordinance would protect LGBT men and women from discrimination at work, in housing and public accommodations.

Kokomo Mayor Greg Goodnight proposed the plan during his state of the city speech last month.
