Deputy: Drunk driver stopped car in middle of I-65

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — An attempt to pull over an intoxicated driver led to a vehicle being stopped in the middle of the interstate, according to investigators.

46-year-old Mehn Tun of Indianapolis has been arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence.

The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office said Tun was driving erratically around the 68 mile marker on northbound I-65 Wednesday night.

A deputy observed Tun crossing both lanes without warning and almost causing several collisions.

When the deputy went to pull Tun over, he said Tun stopped at severe angle in the right lane of the interstate. The deputy moved Tun’s vehicle to the shoulder.

According to investigators, the smell of alcohol was detected and an empty alcohol bottle was visible. Tun was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital for a blood draw.

Since being taken into the Bartholomew County Jail, Tun has since been released on $2,500 bond.
