Woman arrested after bringing narcotics to a Putnam Co. prison

GREENCASTLE, Ind. (WISH) – A woman was arrested Tuesday for attempting to bring in narcotics to the Putnamville Correctional Facility.

Mary Toliver surrendered Suboxone and heroin on a routine visit to the Correctional Facility’s visiting center.

She was arrested with the preliminary charges of conspiracy to traffick in a controlled substance with an inmate and possession of a controlled substance.

She was scheduled to visit Anthony Sanders.

According to the release, he was been placed in restricted housing at the facility during the internal investigation. Sanders is currently serving a 20 year sentence for dealing cocaine.

“We are extremely proud for the dedication our staff shows every day to maintain the safety of everyone in our facility and community,” said Superintendent Brian Smith.
