INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Kiara Cieras was found not competent to stand trial for the murder of her roommate, Vilma Soriano.
Police say she was committed to the Department of Mental Health.
Cieras was accused of stabbing her roommate more than 200 times in an apartment on the northwest side of Indianapolis, according to court documents.
Witnesses told detectives Cieras admitted to the crime before driving off with four young children, two of them her own. They are now in protective custody.
Police say Kiara Ciares had not lived at Whispering Pine Apartments for long when she was arrested for murder.
