Four injured in party bus shooting in Oakland

OAKLAND, Calif. (KRON) – Police Saturday morning responded to a shooting involving at least one vehicle in Oakland.

Officers have responded to the area of Fifth and Union streets on a report of a vehicle that was struck by gunfire. Upon arrival, they saw that it was a party bus that was shot.

Four people were injured during the shooting, according to police. One of the victims is suffering from critical injuries but is in stable condition. They were transported to a local trauma center.

No one in the party bus were cooperating with officers and none provided a statement or describe what the suspect vehicle looked like.

One of the victims got into an altercation with paramedics as they were trying to transport her to the hospital and ended up forcing her way out of the ambulance. Another victim assaulted an officer who was trying to interview her.

The party bus driver called CHP around 2:25 a.m. The Interstate 880 transition road was closed from about 2:45 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. for investigation.

Investigators are looking for two suspects who were driving a red SUV. No other information was available. Anyone with information is being asked to call (707) 551-4100 or (510) 622-4609.
