Food Trends Tested And Celebrating Pi Day!

Heather Tallman of Basilmomma and Sean Copeland of B105.7 and are together today talking food, cooking, recipes and crazy food trends. Just last week they talked about whipping the liquid that is in a can of chickpeas into a frothy whipped cream like substance called Aquafaba. They thought it sounded nuts- but it sounds like people with allergies love it!

4 large tomatoes (or 6 ripe roma), chopped

1/4 C red onion, chopped

1 small jalapeno, seeded and chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

1/3 C fresh chopped or 1 1/2 TB from Gourmet Garden (in a tube) cilantro

Zest of 1 lime

Juice of 1 lime

Pinch salt/fresh black pepper

1 tsp olive oil

Combine all in a bowl and allow to sit 15 minutes before serving.

Also, today is Pi Day and Sean and Heather love a good pie. Specifically the famous Hoosier Cream Pie. So here is a ‘pie’ for people who like pie but think making a pie is too much work- in honor of Pi Day!
