Man arrested for pair of Kokomo armed robberies

KOKOMO, Ind. (WISH) — One of two men wanted for armed robberies in Kokomo has been arrested. Police said the pair is responsible for two armed home robberies and a vehicle theft.

Markisus L. Christopher, 19, of Marion was arrested in connection to the crimes Saturday. He faces preliminary charges of burglary, a level one felony; burglary, a level two felony; and auto theft, a level six felony.

Witnesses told police two masked men pushed their way into a residence in the 2700 block of North Washington Street around 3:30 a.m. Thursday. One of the men was armed with a gun and the other had a laser pointer, witnesses told police. The men demanded money and threatened to shoot people, according to police.

Another armed robbery was reported in Bon Air Trailer Park in the 2500 block of North Apperson Way around 4:15 a.m. the same day. Like the first incident, witnesses told police the masked pair were armed and demanded money. Police said a victim was pistol whipped several times during a struggle.

A few minutes later, police said a vehicle was stolen in the 2900 block of North Apperson Way.

The second suspect is described as a light-skinned black male.
