Paddlers Meet Artists to Support the Fight Against Breast Cancer

Elaine Shea, VP, Board Member, Indy SurvivOars and Leigh Dunnington-Jones, Gallery Director at Raymond James Stutz Art Gallery stop by to tell us about an exciting new art exhibit to promote awareness and raise money for the fight against breast cancer.

Indy SurviveOars asked artists to paint, sculpt, carve, add metalwork or otherwise make art out of a Dragon boat Paddle. They asked artists to let their passion for art meet the SurviveOars passion for rowing to celebrate hope and inspiration.  Artists were asked to think outside the Pink Ribbon concept with artwork focused on dragon-boat racing, a dragon, the strong spirited paddlers or teamwork.

Bids are being accepted from March 6-18, online here.Paddles are displayed on the Indy SurviveOars web page and in the Raymond James Stutz Art Gallery. All the paddles will be displayed Monday – Friday, March 6-18, from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm and sold at the March 18 event. Votes for the “Viewer’s Choice” award will be collected all month at the gallery.
