INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – An active pattern combined with unusually warm temperatures for this time of year will help to fuel storms across the area Tuesday.
The daytime hours for Tuesday will be dry, warm and windy. Expect a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day, with highs surging to the low to mid 70s.
A strong cold front will spark thunderstorms to our west, in central Illinois. Those storms will become more linear as they approach Indiana. Expect storms to move through central Indiana between 8:00 p.m. and 1 a.m., Tuesday/Wednesday.
Strong straight line winds will be the primary concern for some of the storms. An isolated tornado or hail producer can’t be ruled out.
Parts of central Indiana (mainly north of Indianapolis) are under a slight risk for severe weather Tuesday evening with other locations under a marginal risk.
