Voters head to polls for ‘Super Tuesday 3’

OHIO (WISH) – Some are calling Tuesday “Super Tuesday 3” as voters in more crucial states head to the polls.

Primaries are Tuesday in Missouri, Illinois, Ohio, Florida and North Carolina.

Some are calling this a “make or break” day in the race for the republican nominee: this is a key day for those in the GOP hoping to stop Donald Trump.

Florida and Ohio both have high delegate counts, and both are winner-take-all states.

Senator Marco Rubio will have a tough battle in his home state of Florida: the most recent polls released show Trump with a 2-1 lead there.

The closer battle will be in Ohio, where Ohio governor John Kasich and Donald Trump are in a virtual tie, according to one poll.

Kasich now has the support of Mitt Romney and John Boehner.

Experts say if Trump wins in Ohio, it will be very hard for the other candidates to gain enough delegates to stop Trump from becoming the republican nominee.

On the democratic side, front-runner Hillary Clinton is hoping to keep Bernie Sanders from gaining more momentum after his surprising victory in Michigan.

Key states for the democratic race for nominee are in the Midwest: Missouri, Illinois, and Ohio.

Polls show Clinton ahead in Florida and North Carolina.

One poll shows Clinton edging Sanders 51 – 46 percent in Ohio.
