Former Batesville mayor to plead guilty in prostitution case

BATESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — Former Batesville mayor Richard Fledderman will enter a guilty plea to patronizing a prostitute.

According to court documents, he will plead guilty on April 14.

A male prostitute who was accused of not disclosing his HIV-positive status to the mayor of Batesville has been sentenced in the case.

Indiana State Police said then-Batesville mayor Richard Fledderman paid Wigle-Stevens for sex last June. ISP also said Wigle-Stevens had threatened to go public unless Fledderman paid him off.Randy-Wigle Stevens received 908 days of probation. He pleaded guilty to failure to disclose his HIV-positive status, prostitution and intimidation on Friday.

Both men were arrested, with Fledderman being charged for patronizing a prostitute.
