Downtown prepares for Saint Patrick’s Day

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Marching bands, bagpipes and spectators wearing green were once again set to line the streets of downtown Indianapolis Thursday to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day.

The 36th annual parade presented by the Hoosier Lottery was scheduled to start along Pennsylvania Avenue at North Street at 11:30 a.m.

The public has also been invited to a block party festival featuring Irish music, raffle drawings, a beer garden and food trucks starting at 10 a.m. The event ends at 3 p.m.

The events are free and open to all ages.
