Indianapolis man charged with murder of 4-month old son

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An Indianapolis man is facing murder charges following the death of his four-month-old son.

Aaron Jorgensen, 31, faces charges of murder, battery resulting in death to a person less than 14 years of age and neglect of a dependent resulting in death.

According to court documents, Jorgensen’s son died from non-accidental blunt force traumatic injury.

The child had multiple hemorrhages that occurred at different times, according to the coroner’s report.

Court documents state that officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrived at Jorgensen’s residence on Dec. 21, 2015. Police found a friend of Jorgensen performing CPR on the child.

The child was transported to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health where he was declared deceased. A CT scan showed signs of head trauma, including one older and one newer hematoma.

A search of the residence revealed, alcohol bottles, drug paraphernalia, cock roaches, trash and messy diapers.

Police also said Jorgensen was inconsistent with his statements to officers.

Court documents state that the child’s mother was at work that day and had not been notified by Jorgensen of any injuries suffered by the child.
